This altar cloth is made from white silk dupioni.

I've embroidered it with a Brigid's Cross design in the center. Each corner has a celtic knotwork style flame. Imbolc is the celebration of the return of the light, and the approach of the new growing season, as the sun's strength will increase over the coming months. Brigid is associated with sacred flames, holy wells, and healing as both a goddess and a saint, and Imbolc or Candlemas is Her feast day, as goddess or saint.

The hem is stitched with red thread, using a knotwork-like stitch.
